Grants to Charities:
Grants to organizations are made to tax-exempt public charities under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Program interests include, but are not limited to: LGBTQIA2S+ support, disadvantaged youth, public health, women, the arts, those experiencing food insecurity, and the unhoused. The Looking Out Foundation generally does not support: endowment programs, fund raising events, annual appeals of well-established organizations, scholarships, or grants to individuals.
Please note that the Looking Out Foundation receives far more requests each grant cycle than it can support. The average grant allocation is between $5,000 and $25,000.
While we have a broad focus, our priorities this year include:
Grant decisions are normally made twice per year in May and November. Applicants seeking a May decision must apply between October 15 and January 15th. Applicants seeking a November decision must apply between April 15 and July 1. Applicants may not submit a proposal more than once in any twelve-month period.

A few notes about our process for those applying for grants:
We do not need any more information beyond this form. Our diligence process is robust and we give unrestricted grants. We also do not have the capacity to do any phone calls. We are grateful for you and the work you do! We will email those selected for grants. If you do not hear from us, you were not chosen for a grant this cycle.
